This Website was created Jan 2007,  as I am the Secretary for the Solway Parrot Club.  I had to produce a Newsletter every month to post out to all the Members. 
I felt that if I could create a Website then all the members with access to the Internet would benefit. (+ any other Bird Keepers)
I could let them have any Club information, as soon as I received it plus any
Birds for Sale/Wanted + other relevant Club/Bird information.
 I am continually adding to the site, which is now quite sizeable, covering just about everything to do with Cage & Aviary Birds, their care, feeding, breeding and general care/ health/illness & injury + lots of photos and links to other
Bird-related websites . .  We now have 100+ hits on the main site and 200+ on the Ads for Sale and Wanted pages.

This Website was created for Robbie & Pauline Young who own
Linskeldfield Farm Nr. Cockermouth.
They were converting a Barn, that had originally been used to house big Clydesdale Farm Horses, into 2 Self-contained Holiday Cottages.
They have a Tarn adjacent to the Farm and wanted to market the Cottages together with the Bird-watching facilities of the  purpose-built
12 man Bird Hide.
They also have a miniature Shetland Pony Stud.
The emphasis was on a quiet, rural retreat with all home comforts, where Outdoor Enthusiasts could enjoy Bird-watching, Cycling, Horse-riding and Walking on the nearby hills and mountains, whilst being close to
Lake District Towns of Keswick/Cockermouth.

The 2 day alternative to the C2C

This Website was created just after Foot & Mouth hit the lake District and our Guest House business.
We felt a need to diversify and create, what was at that point a Foot & Mouth Free Cycle Route and offer it as a full 2 - 3 day Package Deal to Guests, incl. Transport to the Start at Ulverston and collection from the finish at Carlisle + 2 days in our B&B
We researched the route, produced a Direction Booklet + uploaded  the website, which includes itineraries, safety check lists, route guides, info about the route and a super Guests' photo Album.
The route is marketed as a 2 day alternative to the C2C and now has optional off-road sections and variations on the main theme.

Keswick Town Centre.
We specialise in Cycling and Activity Holidays
inc. the Cumbria Way Cycle Route (as above).
A lot of our business is generated through this Website and on-line enquiries/bookings are taken via emails.
So, this website it paramount to generating the business we receive.
I have put links to other relevant Holiday Activities in the area and there
is an abundance of local information and photos for the holiday-maker
to browse through to give them a real feel of what the area and the
Guest house has to offer them.
